Jammu, July 15: Even as Jammu has been facing severe “power crises” this summer, the government is focusing on “preparedness” to ensure proper power supply in Kashmir during coming winters. While winter is still far away and the people of Jammu are facing hardships due to power crises in the ongoing summers, the government has held a high level meeting to discuss the power supply in Jammu and Kashmir.
Official documents reveal that the winter preparedness for Kashmir will start later this month and that it was decided at the high level meeting.
On July 7, the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha while chairing a high-level meeting in Srinagar to review the power scenario in J&K, enquired about the way forward and future deliverables planned by the Power Development Department. Jammu, July 15: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Bipin Rawat has arrived in Jammu to review the security situation in the aftermath of suspected drone attacks on the high security zone of the Air Force Station, Jammu.
On June 27, two bombs were airdropped from the suspected drones on the Jammu Air Force Station, leaving two IAF personnel injured.
“Gen Rawat on Wednesday evening arrived here to review the situation after Air Force Station drone attacks,” official sources said.

Jammu, July 15: Alert was sounded when a drone was again spotted hovering near the Air Force Station in Jammu on Wednesday night, police sources here said.
They said that the authorities concerned informed the police that an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was spotted between Satwari and Miran Sahib area, near the Air Force Station.
“The security personnel reportedly fired a few rounds but the flying object escaped,” sources said.

SRINAGAR, July 15: The Government on Thursday informed that 203 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 74 from Jammu division and 129 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 319355. Also 01 COVID-19 deaths have been reported from Jammu Division.
