Jammu grievances gather dust in sarkari files, over 500 complaints lie unattended | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 16: Much against the government assurance of timely redressal of grievances in J&K, the complaints filed by the people of Jammu are allegedly gathering dust here.
With this being the scene in the City of Temples, the plight elsewhere in Jammu region can only be imagined.
Official documents as accessed by the Early Times reveal that a shocking number of around 550 complaints as filed by the Jammuites from time to time are “gathering dust.”
Sources said the matter came to the notice of a senior official posted in the district during an official meeting held in the winter capital on July 14.
“The concerned officer apprised the Deputy Commissioner that there are around 550 grievances pending in different departments,” official documents as accessed by the Early Times reveal.
Sources said the Deputy Commissioner was taking department wise review of the grievances disposed of and those pending.

SRINAGAR, July 16: The Government on Friday informed that 221 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 103 from Jammu division and 118 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 319576.Also 01 COVID-19 death has been reported from Jammu Division.
Moreover, 208 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 70 from Jammu Division and 138from Kashmir Division.

Srinagar, July 16: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ABC) has registered an FIR against three engineers of Central University of Kashmir (CUK) and a construction firm for embezzling funds to the tune of Rs 71.61 lakh in the valley.

New Delhi, July 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (July 16) urged states where COVID-19 cases are rising to take proactive measures to prevent a third wave and stressed on moving forward with the strategy of test, track, treat and ‘tika (vaccine)’.

Srinagar, July 16: Two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militants were on Friday killed and as many CRPF personnel were injured in an encounter which ensued after security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Srinagar.
Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir range, Vijay Kumar said that as many as 78 militants, including 39 from Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), have been killed in different encounters with security forces during the last over seven months in the valley.
