Srinagar, July 1: Historic Day in Indian Criminal Justice System as new Criminal Laws came into force today. To mark this momentous occasion, the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha presided over the implementation ceremony of the new Laws in J&K, at Police Headquarters.
Hon'ble Chief Justice, J&K and Ladakh High Court Sh. Justice N. Kotiswar Singh also graced the occasion.
In his address, the Lt Governor expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for bringing the much-needed reforms in the Criminal Justice System of the country.

Srinagar, July 1: Director General of J&K Police R R Swain on Monday said that the three new criminal laws under 'Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita' (BNS) will maintain a balance to win any war while keeping the constitution intact.
"These laws keep a tremendous balance keeping in mind the constitutional values and morality that will provide public safety, security, national security, and national integrity", DGP Swain told media persons in Srinagar on Monday.
He said BNS will also enable us to win the war against terrorism.

SRINAGAR, July 1: As three new criminal laws come into effect across the country, Jammu and Kashmir police registered cases under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in several districts of valley.
The first FIR under the BNS was registered at Police Station Bijbehara, Anantnag in south Kashmir.
Police said the case, documented as FIR No. 143/2024, has been registered under Section 125(a) and 281 of the BNS 2023. “This sets a vital precedent for the implementation of the new criminal law framework and underscores the swift and decisive action taken by the Anantnag Police to uphold the law and ensure justice for all,” a police statement said.

JAMMU, July 1: A fresh batch of pilgrims left for the Amarnath shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas from here on Monday, officials said.

New Delhi, July 1: In a move aimed at offering relief to businesses and commercial enterprises, oil marketing companies have announced a reduction in the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders, effective Monday.
The price of the commercial LPG cylinder of 19 Kg has been slashed by Rs 30. Consequently, the new retail sales price of a 19 Kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi is now Rs 1646.
This latest price cut follows a series of reductions over the past few months.
