Azad goes into ‘hibernation’ leaves DPAP leaders confused | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 22: While all political parties have started campaigns for the coming Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, leaders of the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) are in a dilemma as their party supremo has virtually gone into hibernation.
After the declaration of the results of the Lok Sabha elections, Ghulam Nabi Azad has not addressed any public meetings nor interacted with party workers or leaders.
Although DPAP has supported Engineer Rashid on the Baramulla Lok Sabha seat, the party failed to get respectable votes on three Lok Sabha seats namely Udhampur-Doda, Anantnag-Rajouri, and Srinagar-Budgam.

Over 3,200 pilgrims leave Jammu | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 22: Over 3,200 devotees enthusiastically left from Jammu on the pilgrimage to Amarnath shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas early Monday morning amid tight security arrangements, officials said. The 25th batch with 3,281 pilgrims left in 111 vehicles under CRPF escort from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp at 3 am, they said.
Of these, 1,979 pilgrims opted for the traditional 48-km Pahalgam route, while 1,302 chose the shorter but steeper 14-km Baltal route, they added.
A total of 123,013 pilgrims have embarked on Amarnath Yatra from the Jammu base camp since June 28, when Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch here.

New Delhi, July 22: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Monday said the New & Renewable Energy Ministry has issued guidelines to provide Rs 4,950 crore incentive to discoms under the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Criteria for incentivising Discoms include achievement of installation of additional grid-connected rooftop solar capacity beyond the baseline level, the New & Renewable Energy Minister said in a post on X.

SRINAGAR, July 22: Police have arrested two more persons allegedly involved in human trafficking and rescued three minor girls in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police has so far arrested four accused and rescued seven minor girls during the investigation of the case.
Police on Monday said that during the further investigation of case FIR No. 173/2024 under relevant sections of law registered in Police Station Baramulla, it was found that Ghulam Mohammad Khan, a resident of Narbal, and Manzoor Ahmad Shah of Janbazpora were also involved in the trafficking and exploitation of minor girls from outside the Union Territory.

| | India’s GDP to grow at 6.5-7 % in 2024-25 | | | NEW DELHI, July 22: India’s GDP is likely to grow at 6.5 to 7 per cent in the current fiscal year amid global challenges which may impact exports, said Economic Survey 2023-24 tabled in Parliament on Monday.
