Kargil, July 24: Notwithstanding claims of the political parties to unitedly fight the BJP, the chances of the opposition’s unity in the two Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh appear to be bleak due to the ground situation.
After the emergence of serious differences among constituents of the newly floated Indian National Developmental, Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) in Jammu and Kashmir, opposition parties going to fight each other in the coming elections of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil.
The National Conference and Congress announced a pre-poll alliance for the upcoming LAHDC Kargil elections likely to be held in August-September this year. Both parties announced a pre-poll alliance but the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) another constituent of the I.N.D.I.A is ignored by the National Conference and Congress.

Jammu, July 24: A high drama was witnessed at an official meeting in Srinagar on July 24 when a war of words erupted between a senior official in the administration and a politician.
Sources said the senior politician who was invited to a meeting about a religious events being held in Kashmir had voiced some grievances but that he was confronted by a senior official present at the meeting.
Sources said others from the side of administration also joined their colleague and asked the politician to take his words back and be silent.
The sources said the politician objected to the behavior of the officials and decided to stage a walkout.

Jammu, July 24: Veteran Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Madan Das Devi who had served as the Sah-Sarkaryavah (joint secretary) of the organisation, passed away at Bengaluru on Monday morning.
Hailing from Maharashtra, the 81-year-old Parcharak and one of the Think-Tank and an ideologue of the Sangh Parivar died at the Rashtrotthan Hospital after a prolonged illness.
According to the official Twitter handle of RSS, mortal remains will be kept at the RSS local headquarters, Keshava Kripa in Bengaluru from 1.30 pm to 4 pm before being flown to Pune for the last rites on Tuesday.

NEW DELHI, Jul 24: Number of entities, including individuals, who filed income tax returns increased by 6.18 per cent in 2022-23 to over 7.40 crore, of which about 5.16 crore declared zero tax liability, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said on Monday.
”There has been a 6.18 per cent increase in the number of persons filing Income Tax Returns in F.Y. 2022-23 as compared to persons in F.Y. 2021-22,” she said in the Lok Sabha.

According to an order issued here, Roshan Jaggi, IFS (JK:1988), PCCF/ Director, Social Forestry, J&K is transferred and posted as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Territorial) & HoFF, J&K.
