LAHDC Kargil polls likely to determine J&K’s political scenario | NC, Cong dumping PDP puts question mark on opposition unity | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 27: As the LAHDC (Kragil) elections draw nearer, the political climate in Ladakh is expected to heat up and is likely to have direct impact on political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “The alliance between the National Conference and Congress for LAHDC polls and Peoples Democratic Party being left alone has put a question mark on whether a united opposition front can still emerge in J&K. NC and Congress leaving PDP out of this alliance is a setback for it.”
Pertinently, the LAHDC is an elected body that governs the Kargil district of Ladakh. It plays a crucial role in the administration and development of the region. 4 missing family members of soldier traced in Haridwar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 27: Four members of an army personnel’s family went missing from Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district and were later traced in Uttar Pradesh’s Haridwar following a search operation by police, officials said.
All four persons were reunited with the family in Rajouri on Thursday, they said.
A team of police received information that family members of a serving army personnel i.e. his wife and three children had gone missing from their house in Rajouri on July 23, police said.

New Delhi, July 27: A total of seven airlines, including Heritage Aviation and Air Odisha Aviation, have been closed down in the last five years, the government said on Thursday.
Currently, there are 11 scheduled operators and 5 scheduled commuter operators in the country, according to data provided by Minister of State for Civil Aviation VK Singh in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.

Ayodhya (UP), July 27: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has sent a formal invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the consecration of the idol of Lord Rama in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple January next year, a trust member said on Thursday.
The trust will extend invitations to around 10,000 guests for the ceremony.
The Trust has formally invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi writing him a letter recently and dates between 15 January to 24 January 2024 have been given, but the exact date will be decided by the Prime Minister himself, general secretary of Ram Mandir Trust Champat Rai said.

Nagpur, July 27: Of the estimated 1.34 crore Non-Resident Indians, more than 66 per cent are in the Gulf countries of UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain, the External Affairs Ministry has said in an RTI reply.
The data is as of March 2022, said the ministry.
An NRI is an Indian citizen who is ordinarily residing outside India and holds an Indian passport.
Nagpur-based banker Abhay Kolarkar said he had sought the data pertaining to NRIs and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) under Right to Information (RTI) a few months ago and the ministry’s reply reached him in the last week of June.

New Delhi, July 27: The government spent Rs 408.46 crore on the publicity of its schemes through the Central Bureau of Communications in 2022-23, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur told the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
In a written reply, he said the government spent Rs 1,179.17 crore on publicity in 2018-19, and Rs 708.18 crore in 2019-20 through different media vehicles.
The last Lok Sabha elections were held in 2019.
In 2020-21, the government’s expenditure on publicity and awareness initiatives was Rs 409.47 crore, followed by Rs 315.98 crore in 2021-22, he said.
