Mobile companies penalized for violating radiation criteria | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 29: Out of a total of 6,63,411 mobile towers in the country, 9818 towers have been erected in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Like other parts of the country, mobile towers erected in J&K violated radiation-related criteria and a penalty was imposed on some mobile companies.
Replying to a question of Neeraj Dangi in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Communication, Devusinh Chauhan, informed Upper House of the Parliament that the present Electro Magnetic Field (EMF) radiation limits as laid down for Base Transceiver Station (BTSs) installed at various mobile towers across India.
The Minister admitted that some mobile companies have violated the set criteria and penalty has been imposed on violators for exceeding the prescribed EMF radiation.
The Minister said that one mobile tower and site was found to exceed the prescribed EMF while nine BTSs were found involved in violating criteria. A penalty worth Rs 64,19,921 was imposed on four Telecom Service Provider for violation.

New Delhi, July 29: Medical and dental courses in the country will have a 27 per cent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs), 10 per cent for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) under the All India Quota Scheme for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Thursday.
This will apply to courses like MBBS, MD, MS, BDS, MDS and diploma medical programmes from this academic year. Around 5,550 seats will be reserved in all for the communities thanks to this order.

Srinagar, July 29: Situation is under control on Thursday following improvement in the weather after cloudburst in the higher reaches due to which nallah near Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas started flowing heavily yesterday.
The shrine was safe, official sources said adding there was no pilgrim in the area as Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has already cancelled the pilgrimage 2021 in the wake of COVID-19.
Personnel from different agencies are now busy removing stones and mudslides from the area, where tents of security forces, Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), health department and SDRF were located near the shrine.

SRINAGAR, July 29: The Government on Thursday informed that181 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 67 from Jammu division and 114 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 321207.
Moreover, 175 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 66 from Jammu Division and 109from Kashmir Division.
