New Covid variants on move, Union Govt admits surge in cases | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 30: Union Government on Friday admitted that some states and Union Territories (UTs) are witnessing a surge in positive cases due to and evolution and circulation of more transmissible variants of SARS-CoV-2 viruses.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State for Health, Dr. Bharti Pravin Pawar said that easing of lockdown combined with pandemic fatigue, lack of community adherence to COVID appropriate behaviour and evolution and circulation of more transmissible variants of SARS-CoV-2 viruses can be attributed to the surge in Coronavirus cases in some States/UTs.
The Minister was referring to reasons for the recent surge in Coronavirus cases in some States/UTs including Kerala, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Manipur.
Minister said that as per World Health Organization, there is some evidence to indicate higher transmissibility for cases infected with variants of SARS-CoV-2 like Delta and Delta plus.

Govt extends ban on international passenger flights till Aug 31 | | |

NEW DELHI, July 30: The government on Friday extended the ban on international passenger flights until midnight of August 31, 2021, as per the circular issued by the top aviation regulator the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The DGCA, in its latest circular, said, "the flight ban shall remain in place till 2359 hrs Indian Standard Time (IST) of August 31, 2021. However, it shall not apply to cargo flights and those approved by the regulatory body."

SRINAGAR, July 30: The Government on Friday informed that 137 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 58 from Jammu division and 79 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 321344.Also 01 COVID death has been reported from Jammu Division. Moreover, 109 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 33 from Jammu Division and 76from Kashmir Division.

Jammu, July 30: Jammu Police on Friday morning launched a search operation after a suspected drone was spotted near the bordering village in Akhnoor area here. Police said that villagers on Thursday night spotted a blinking light and informed the police. “It was probably a drone spotted near Bhalwal in Pargwal village close to the International Border at Akhnoor,” a senior police official said.
