Jammu, July 30: It’s official that the ongoing era of peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of its so called special status has left Pakistan jealous and exposed before the world community.
In yet another masterstroke, the Modi government in June this year passed through Jammu and Kashmir, the torch for the 44th Chess Olympiad, which started in Tamil Nadu on July 28. Pakistan which was scheduled to take part in the event, refused to participate at the eleventh hour, raising the “same old and weird tale of Kashmir issue.”

CHANDIGARH, July 30: The Centre has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics and it was showing results, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on July 30, 2022.
This, he said, is necessary to achieve the objective of a healthy society and prosperous nation.
Also, it was important from the security point of view as “the dirty money which is generated from the drug trade is used in activities against the country”, the minister said after inaugurating a two-day national conference on drug trafficking and national security.

JAMMU, July 30: Two persons were killed and four others injured after a mud house collapsed due to heavy rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district on Saturday, officials said.
The incident took place in high-altitude Khanikot Doke area where the victims had gone to graze cattle, they said.
Six people were living in the mud house. Due to heavy rains, it collapsed, resulting in the death of a man and a woman and injuries to four persons, the officials said.

SRINAGAR, July 30: District Development Council (DDC) members of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district have moved a resolution against DDC Chairman Budgam Nazir Ahmed Khan alleging that Khan illegally formed the Biodiversity Management Committee for the Budgam without taking the DDC members into confidence.
As many as 13 DDC members of the Budgam district have moved a resolution against the DDC Chairman and demanded that fresh election should be held to elect the new Chairman for DDC Budgam. Srinagar, July 30: Security forces shot dead an unidentified militant in a gun battle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday, officials said.
Two soldiers and a policeman were also wounded during the encounter.
The encounter broke out at Wanigam Bala village of the district this morning when joint teams of security forces launched an anti militancy operation in the area.
