Has Omar Abdullah forgotten the past? | Abrogation of J&K’s special status | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 4: Vice-president of National Conference and former chief minister of J&K Omar Abdullah not breaking his silence over the abrogation of the Article 370 and J&K’s reorganization has raised many questions, which Omar will have to answer sooner or later. The big question which everyone seems to be asking is that has he forgotten the past?
It may be recalled that soon after his release Omar had said that he would make his stand public about the abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35-A, after the lockdown is lifted.
Omar then had meticulously ducked the question, citing the COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions as a primary reason for his silence.
“As far as Article 370 and 35 A are concerned I will speak on the issues openly in detail later. At present, I will speak about how we can get rid of COVID -19. We are fighting a big fight against Coronavirus. Today, when we were asked to maintain social distancing, here we are together violating the very orders,” he had said.

Jammu, Jul y 4: People and politicians are not adhering to the health advisories and have lowered the guard despite COVID-19 cases increasing and death toll zooming past 100 mark in Jammu and Kashmir.
During the initial days of the COVID-19 outbreak and when the lockdown was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sensitization campaigns were taken up and health advisories were issued by the administration. People were asked to adhere to follow the directions in letter and spirit.
In the beginning advisories issued by the government were followed strictly but as the process of unlocking commenced common people stopped adhering to these health advisories.

New Delhi, July 4: The frontline fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force are flying consistently in and out of this airbase near the border with China, including the Russian-origin mighty Su-30MKIs and the MiG-29s.

Jammu, July 4: Asserting that the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra would have to be undertaken in a "restricted manner" due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday said only 500 pilgrims would be allowed per day by road from Jammu to the 3,880-metre-high holy cave shrine.

Srinagar, July 4: Amid the scorching heat, residents in various parts of Kashmir are experiencing an acute shortage of drinking water.
They have accused the authorities concerned of being indifferent to their problems amid the hot weather.
