Early Times Report Jammu, July 4: After former minister Syed Basharat Bukhari, three more former legislators are in touch with the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership for the “Ghar Wapsi” in the party. Highly placed sources said that two former legislators of Rajouri district including a former minister of the previous PDP-BJP government have opened a channel of communication with the PDP leaders to explore the possibility of rejoining the party. Agencies New Delhi, July 4: Former senior police officers, including a former CBI chief, have said that new criminal laws, which came into force on Monday will ensure speedy justice to the victims. Former Maharashtra DGP Sanjeev Dayal said the three new criminal laws are a "welcome change" from the colonial mindset of previous laws. "They bring necessary emphasis on crime against women reflecting concerns on rape, molestation and child trafficking. Early Times Report Jammu, July 4: A joint team of Army and Police on Thursday destroyed one 81 mm mortar shell found abandoned in bordering Khour area here in the city outskirts. Police said that acting on an information from the local residents of the Dalheri Kaleeth that one 81 mm mortar shell was found in the area at Khour, police personnel team from Khour along with Pallanwala and army immediately swung into action and rushed to the spot. Early Times Report Jammu, July 4: In view of fake online sale of helicopter tickets to the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Yatra and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage, the Jammu Cyber Police on Thursday has sounded alert for the general public to this effect. In an advisory circulated by the Jammu Cyber Cell Police on the social media platform, it has been informed to the general public that the fraudsters are offering fake onilne helicopter tickets on different websites for Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage and Amarnath Yatra. Early Times Report JAMMU, July 4: Despite heavy rains, a contingent of over 5,600 pilgrims set off from Jammu towards the twin basecamps, Baltal and Palagam, of the Amarnath cave shrine on Thursday, officials said. More than 30,000 devotees offered prayers to the naturally formed ice lingam on Wednesday alone, bringing the total number of pilgrims to over one lakh, they said. The seventh batch of pilgrims included 4,487 men, 1,011 women, 10 children and 188 ‘sadhus’ and ‘sadhvis’ who departed at 3.13 am in 219 vehicles, under the escort of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp, the officials said.
