Jammu, July 5: Amid the tall claims by the government to rein in corrupt practices in Jammu and Kashmir, there has been little effort made to act tough against the graft related incidents and keeping a vigil on such incidents.
Years ago, the government and its anti-graft bodies decided to install CCTV cameras in offices wherein the functioning is related to the greater public dealing. The modalities involved in the installation of the CCTV cameras were discussed and decided thoroughly.
In a bid to ensure transparency and accountability in the government functions, CCTV cameras were set to play a major role in the entire process and that such a proposal would also compel those who are involved in corruption to remain on the tenterhooks.
