Yatra suspended amid inclement weather | | |

Srinagar, July 5: The Amarnath Yatra was temporarily suspended from the Pahalgam and Baltal routes on Tuesday morning due to inclement weather, officials said.
The 43-day pilgrimage began last week.
Officials said no pilgrim was allowed to move towards the holy cave from the base camp of Nunwan in Pahalgam and Baltal in Ganderbal. Officials said around 71,000 pilgrims have paid obeisance at the shrine since June 30. The pilgrimage is set to end on August 11. Jammu, July 5: Kashmiri Pandit employees posted in the Valley under PM’s rehabilitation package continued with their protest to seek relocation for the 54th day on Tuesday here.
Employees while talking to reporters said, “We don’t want to go back to Kashmir as we fear for our lives. The government should relocate us.”
The protesters said, “All the migrant employees posted in Kashmir should be posted immediately posted outside the Valley to stop any further bloodshed of Hindu community. The employees should be temporarily attached to Relief Organization Jammu for a certain period till the environment in Kashmir becomes conducive.”

New delhi, July 5: Online registration for recruitment into the Indian Army under the Centre's Agnipath scheme for Union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh commenced on Tuesday, officials said.
A recruitment rally will be conducted by Army Recruiting Office, Srinagar, from September 17 to September 30 at Haiderbeig, Pattan in Baramulla district.
"The recruitment rally will be for recruitment as Agniveers under Agnipath scheme," a Srinagar-based defence spokesman said.

Ganderbal, July 5: A cloudburst triggered by the heavy rains blocked the Srinagar-Leh highway after flash floods occurred in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
The flash floods occurred in the Shah Mohallah Kullan area of Kangan in the Ganderbal district on Sunday.
According to a report, several houses were inundated and caused partial damage.
Work to clear the blocked Srinagar-Leh highway is underway.
This happened while the Amarnath Yatra is going on in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Yatra began on June 29 from Jammu amid tight security arrangements made by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) along with the army and the local police.

New Delhi, July 5: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday informed that the Class 10 and 12 results will be declared in the last week of July as per the schedule.
A senior official of CBSE said on condition of anonymity that “CBSE class 10 and 12 results are likely to declare in the last week of July as per the scheduled fixed by the Board and there is no delay in Board results.”
In comparison to the last two years, CBSE, this year going to declare results early despite COVID 19 impact because the examinations were started late and conducted for more than 50 days, the official stated.

New Delhi, July 5: The Election Commission on Tuesday issued notification for the August 6 poll to elect the next vice president, setting in motion the process of filing nomination papers by candidates.
July 19 is the last date for filing nominations, the notification said.
The term of incumbent M Venkaiah Naidu ends on August 10 and the next vice president will take oath on August 11.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on July 20 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is July 22.

JAMMU, July 5: A mentally-challenged person was on Tuesday detained after he was moving in a suspicious manner in a forward village near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
He has been identified as Shiv Kumar (30), a resident of Nepal, they said.
He was detained by the Army in Digwar sector after he was found moving in a suspicious manner, the officials said.
They said Kumar was taken to a hospital where doctors conducted his physical examination and found him mentally challenged.
