Jammu, July 7: As some separatist groups joined with Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah to oppose the decision of the J&K government to give land to landless people, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said who had grabbed state land, think that the poor section should not utilize the government resources.
Launching a veiled attack on two former chief ministers Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah for opposing the decision of the Union Territory administration to allocate five marlas of land to the landless people, Manoj Sinha said that some influential people think that only they have the right to encroach government land.
“J&K Government is dedicated to serving the poor section of society. It is providing land to landless citizens who were ignored in the past. New Delhi, July 7: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday carried out a comprehensive review of the ongoing military reforms, domestic defence manufacturing and ways to bolster research and development for weapons systems and hardware.

Jammu, July 7: Three persons were killed when a vehicle they were travelling met with an accident and rolled down into Chenab River on Friday in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said that a load carrier met with an accident near Cafeteria Morh in the Mehar area and it rolled down into the Chenab.
Three occupants were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the River.

Srinagar, July 7: A landslide hit the Baltal route of the Amarnath Yatra track on Friday following heavy rains in the area, officials said.
No loss of life was reported in the incident.
The landslide was reported near Rail Patri along the track on the Baltal-holy cave axis, they said, adding that as an impact, the pilgrimage trail was blocked.

Srinagar, July 7: Rains lashed Jammu and Kashmir, bringing down the temperature, even as the weatherman on Friday forecast more till July 9.
A meteorological department official said in last 24 hours till 0830 hours today, Srinagar received rainfall of 1.2mm, Qazigund 1.4mm, Pahalgam 7.8mm, Kupwara 2.7mm, Kokernag 10.2mm, Gulmarg 0.6mm, Banihal 3.4mm, Batote 2.4mm, Katra 0.6mm and Bhaderwah 0.8mm.
Regarding the forecast, he said, generally cloudy weather with possibility of intermittent rain and thunderstorm was expected at many places of J&K during 24 hours.
