AIIMS Jammu to get best doctors | | |

Jammu, July 7: Union Health Minister J P Nadda on Sunday said that the best doctors in the country would be deployed in AIIMS Jammu to provide world-class health facilities to the patients in this institute.
Nadda said that AIIMS Jammu is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s gift to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in general and Jammu region in particular.

SRINAGAR, July 7: Six terrorists were killed and two soldiers laid down their lives in twin encounters in Kulgam district, officials said on Sunday.
“The bodies of two terrorists were recovered from the Modergam encounter site while four bodies were recovered from the Chinnigam site on Sunday,” they said.

AKOLA, Jul 7: The last rites of Army jawan Prabhakar Janjal, who was killed in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, will be held in his village in Maharashtra’s Akola district on July 8, a district official said on Sunday.
Six terrorists were killed, and two soldiers were martyred in twin encounters in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
Janjal (26) was martyred in an encounter between Army personnel and terrorists during a cordon and search operation in the Frisal Chinnigam area in Kulgam.
The last rites will be held with full state honours in his native village, Morgaon Bhakre, on Monday, the Akola tehsildar said.

New Delhi, July 7: The Supreme Court will hear on Monday a batch of pleas related to the controversy-ridden medical entrance exam NEET-UG 2024, including those alleging irregularities and malpractices in the May 5 test and seeking a direction to conduct it afresh.

JAMMU, July 7: A fresh batch of over 6,000 pilgrims left the city early Sunday to join the annual Amarnath yatra in Kashmir, officials said.
The tenth batch of 6,145 pilgrims left Jammu’s Baghwati Nagar base camp in two separate convoys of 238 vehicles.
While the first convoy of 115 vehicles carrying 2,697 pilgrims left for Baltal base camp in Ganderbal district around 3.10 am, the second convoy of 123 vehicles with 3,448 pilgrims departed for Pahalgam base camp in Anantnag district.

JAMMU, July 7: At least seven vehicles were damaged after being hit by an overspeeding dumper on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway early Sunday, police said.
No one was injured in the incident which took place near Kunfar on the busy road, they said.
The officials said the dumper was coming from the Jammu side when its driver lost control apparently due to overspeeding and hit seven vehicles before coming to a halt.

SRINAGAR, July 7: Thousands of fish have been found dead in a local stream Tsoont Koel near Barbar Shah area of Srinagar with officials citing lack of oxygen and pollution as the reason.
An official said that the primary cause is the depletion of oxygen in the water bodies. “This is a common occurrence during the summer months,” an official from the fisheries department said.
He said that the high temperatures and humidity lead to reduced oxygen levels in the water, which is fatal for the fish.
