Anantnag, Aug 10: Mustering courage, Kashmiris have finally started raising voice against the atrocities unleashed upon them by the militants' particularly in South Kashmir.
However ironically, the so-called human rights defenders continue to maintain criminal silence over killings of unarmed civilians and other human rights violations being perpetrated by the militants.
On Thursday in South Kashmir's Kulgam, 56 years old Fayaz Ahmed Sofi challenged militants and asked them to prove his slain son, who was allegedly abducted and tortured to death by militants, was an 'informer' and aided army in killing militants.
Militants had abducted two youth from Kulgam on Wednesday. The gunmen tortured the duo - Mehraj Ahmed Dar of Hawoora and Arif Ahmed Sofi of Khudwani, and left them in unconscious state. Mehraj is still untraceable while Arif was shifted to Srinagar hospital where he succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday night.

JAMMU, Aug 10: Even as the militants tortured another youth to death in south Kashmir, the Kashmiri separatist leadership, and others including rights groups who call themselves as champions of human rights, have been silent on such gruesome murders.
On August 9, Arif Ahmed Sofi, who was one of the two youths released after being tortured by militants, succumbed to his injuries at a Srinagar hospital.
Arif, son of Fayaz ahmad Sofi, resident of Khodweni area in Kulgam district, had been working as a salesman at a local mobile phone shop where he earned meager wages to feed his family.
