TOP STORY OF THE DAY
Terrorists strike at will, puncture normalcy claims
No one can feel the pain of Krishna Dhaba owner, whose son was killed in cold blood by ultras
8/12/2021 12:18:26 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 11: Terrorists killing a BJP leader and his wife in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district has yet again punctured the tall claims about normalcy returning to the Valley. On Monday terrorists shot dead BJP’s Kisan Morcha president of Kulgam, Ghulam Rasool Dar, and his wife by barging inside their rented accommodation in Lal Chowk area of Anantnag town. An observer while talking to Early Times said, “If the situation has improved then how come terrorists are calling the shots and killing the people at their own will. The helmsmen need to answer this question.” It’s in place to mention here that when a delegation of ambassadors visited Kashmir earlier this year, the terrorists struck at the famous eatery Krishna Dhaba in Sonawar and killed the son of the eatery owner. The attack took place in the high security zone and after carrying out the assault the terrorists fled away from the spot. After a few days police claimed that they arrested the terrorists who were involved in the attack but they made their presence felt amidst the presence of a foreign del...

Jammu plunges into dark age as unprecedented power cuts return
8/12/2021 12:18:16 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 11: With the return of unprecedented power cuts within just one month, the Jammu region appears to be plunged into the dark age thanks to insensitive, arrogant bureaucrats at the helm of the affairs. In May and June, when the Jammu region witnessed historic power cuts, the authorities had claimed that the system has been streamlined and there will be no unscheduled power curtailment. For the last two days, many parts of the Jammu region are confronting with unscheduled power cuts after repeated intervals, which is a clear indication that all claims of the authorities are confined only on papers. As the whole Jammu region is plunged into crisis due to un...

Administration failed to revive shattered confidence of displaced Hindus
520 migrants ‘return’ to Valley only for taking up jobs under PM’s package but they are living in exclusive colonies set-up for them
8/12/2021 12:18:00 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 11: Notwithstanding tall claims of the J&K administration on the social media, only 520 Kashmiri migrants have returned to the Valley but only for taking up the jobs under the Prime Minister’s Development Package 2015 after the abrogation of Article370. As per record placed on the floor of the Upper House of the Parliament, those who returned to Kashmir Valley are only those who have been recruited under the Prime Minister’s special employment package. The UT administration has failed to convince even a single migrant family to return to their native places without Prime Minister’s employment package. Those who returned for taking jobs under the Prime Mi...

COVID-19 third wave threat looms large, admin says its ready; people apprehensive
8/12/2021 12:17:50 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 11: Amidst warnings being sounded about possibility of third COVID-19 wave likely to hit the country in coming days, administration in J&K is claiming that it’s ready to face the crisis. But the million dollar question is it just a claim or a reality? When the second wave hit Jammu and Kashmir earlier this year that time also the government had claimed that it’s ready to face any eventuality but when the virus raised its ugly head the officials were caught napping. Many people died of oxygen shortage as the oxygen plants were not ready. To tackle the possible third wave, the government had stated that eighty four oxygen plants will be installed across ...

8/12/2021 12:17:44 AM
Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 11: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his Srinagar visit alleged that Press and Judiciary were facing direct assault from the government. Addressing party workers in Srinagar Gandhi said, “All the institutions, including Press and Judiciary, are under pressure. My friends in press are unable to write what they should write due to the fear of reprisal.” “The Press across the country is under threat as journalists have been terrified,” he added. He said there is not only an assault on Jammu and Kashmir, but other parts of India also like Tamil Nadu, and other states. “One thing is clear that J&K is under direct assault from New Delhi while other parts ...

8/12/2021 12:10:51 AM
Early Times Report SAMBA, Aug 11: Ward No 5 Mohalla Shiv Nagar is just a few meters away from Vijaypur town in district Samba, however, despite being in close proximity with the tehsil headquarter this locality is still craving for basic civic amenities. The condition of the link road as well as bye-lanes in Shiv Nagar is so pathetic that it is not only a daunting task for the drivers as well as travellers to commute on rough surfaced road but it is also difficult for the pedestrians to even ...
