On eve of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, tricolor flies high across J&K | | |

Jammu, Aug 12: While Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday flagged off the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ rally at the iconic Dal Lake in Srinagar, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is submerged in the colours of the national flag on the eve of the historic three-day campaign.
Like other parts of the country, residents of Jammu and Kashmir are also going to hoist the national flags on their houses, shops, and other establishments from August 13 to August 15 as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.
“Tiranga Utsav is a celebration of the ideals and aspirations of the country. I appeal to everyone to join this campaign by hoisting the Tricolour on their homes from 13th to 15th August” said the Lt Governor.
Hundreds of Shikaras under, carrying the Tricolour rowed together in the Dal Lake instilling the spirit of nationalism and peace, as part of the celebrations commemorating the 75 years of Independence.

Jammu, Aug 12: In line with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the family members of Khubaib, a commander in the Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit, have hoisted the national flag at their residence in Jammu and Kashmir showing their love and respect for the nation and hatred for the Pakistan sponsored terrorism.

JAMMU, Aug 12: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday ordered that all government buildings including universities, colleges and schools should hoist the national flag on Independence Day by following the proper flag code.

Srinagar, Aug 12: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who is also the Chairman of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), on Friday said inclement weather during the Amarnath yatra could have been the main factor that number of expected pilgrims could not make it to this year's Yatra.

Jammu, Aug 12: Recovery of the armour-piercing bullets from the possession of killed foreign terrorists has added woes to the security forces because first-time such deadly ammunition has been recovered in Jammu province.
Deadly armour-piercing bullets were recovered from two foreign terrorists, believed to be Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) cadre from Pakistan, killed during a suicidal attack on an Army camp at Pargal village in Rajouri district.

Srinagar, Aug 12: A non local worker was shot dead in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, Police said on Friday.
They said Amrej, 19, a resident of Madhepura Besarh Bihar was shot at from a close range by an unidentified militant at Sadunara Ajas in Bandipora during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
He was shifted to hospital where he succumbed ," a police official said.
The incident took place at around 1 am.
