LG’s gift to newly recruited employees on 75th year of Independence: Govt scraps SO- 192 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 14: The decision of the Jammu and Kashmir government to scrap “discriminatory” SO 192 of 2020 is considered a gift of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to newly recruited government employees.
According to the official spokesman of the government, the Administrative Council (AC) which met here under the chairmanship of the Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, approved the scrapping of Jammu and Kashmir Probationer (Condition of Service, Pay and Allowances) and Fixation Rules, 2020, notified vide S.O. 192 of 2020 (successor of S.O 202 of 2015); with effect from 1st of August, 2022.
Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, J&K and Nitishwar Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor attended the meeting. The decision will bring all Government employees being appointed in the Union territory of J&K on an equal footing with their earlier appointed counterparts who may be occupying the same/comparable posts in the cadre.

Multi-layer security grid in place for I-Day in Jammu | | |

Jammu, Aug 14: A multi-layer security arrangement has been put in place ahead of 75th Independence Day for peaceful conduct of the celebrations across the Jammu region.
Police sources said that joint check points are set up at many locations for frisking operations especially the areas adjoining the main venue.

Kulgam, Aug 14: A police personnel was killed after terrorists threw a grenade in the Qaimoh area in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, said police on Sunday.
The victim has been identified as Tahir Khan, a resident of Poonch.
"A grenade incident was reported yesterday night in Qaimoh Kulgam. In this terror incident, 01 police personnel namely Tahir Khan R/O Mendhar, Poonch got injured.

SRINAGAR, Aug 14: The Government today informed that 563 fresh positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19) have been reported today; 58 from Jammu division and 505 from Kashmir division, thus taking the total number of positive cases to 473782.
Moreover, 679 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 75 from Jammu division and 604 from Kashmir division.

SRINaGAR, Aug 14: A cop was injured during an encounter between militants and security forces in Nowhatta area of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday on the eve of the Independence Day, police said.
