Jammu, Aug 17: After identifying the culprits involved in Tuesday's gruesome terror attack in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday initiated the process to attach the properties of the terrorists responsible for the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit Sunil Kumar Bhat.
According to reports, the administration has attached the house of Al-Badr terrorist Adil Wani, who was involved in Tuesday’s terror attack at Shopian.
Apart from attaching his house, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested Wani’s father and three brothers for giving shelter to the terrorists.
According to police, “On 16th August 2022 at about 11:00 A.M two terrorists shot and killed Sunil Kumar Bhat son of Sri Ji Bhat and injured his cousin Pertimber Nath son of Arjun Nath Bhat at his orchard in Chotigam, Shopian. Consequent to the above terrorist act, case FIR No. 153/2022 U/S302, IPC, 7/27, IA Act and 16, 20 ULA(P) Act was registered in P/S Shopian and the investigation process was set into motion”.

Jammu, Aug 17: Residents were in a state of shock after six bodies were found in mysterious circumstances from two separate houses in Sidhra area here on Jammu's outskirts on Wednesday.
On being summoned to the area, the police broke into a locked house and found two dead bodies. Four bodies were recovered from an opposite house in the locality. The deceased were identified as Jaffar Saleem, Rubina Bano, Noor ul Habib, Sakina Begum, Sajad Ahmed and Naseema Akhter.
"As per reports, the bodies were partially decomposed," a police source said. All six are stated to be the family members.

Jammu, Aug 17: Jammu police on Wednesday framed a Special Investigation Team to probe the cause of deaths after six bodies were recovered from two houses in Sidhra area here in the city outskirts. There were three females among the six dead. The bodies were found earlier in the day from the houses in Tawi Vihar area, SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli said and added that the bodies have been shifted to GMC Jammu for autopsy.
"An SIT headed by Sanjay Sharma SP Rural, Pardeep Kumar SDPO Nagrota, Inspector Vishav Partap SHO Nagrota and SI Majid Hussain IC PP Sidhra has been formed to investigate the matter," said the SSP.

Jammu, Aug 17: Security forces and the police in Jammu and Kashmir have intensified efforts to track down a group of terrorists, who managed to escape after an encounter in the Rajouri district, sources said.
Security forces had on Sunday located a group of 2-3 terrorists in Sojan forest area of Samote in Rajouri and laid a siege to neutralise them, they said.
The terrorists fired on the security forces during the cordon and search operation and managed to escape because of heavy rain and bad weather conditions, they said.
Forces have now intensified the operation to track down the terrorists, who may be trying to find new targets in the area, they said.

New Delhi, Aug 17: Political parties and individuals cannot be prevented from making poll promises aimed at fulfilling the constitutional mandate and the term “freebie” should not be confused with genuine welfare measures, the Supreme Court said Wednesday.

New Delhi, Aug 17: Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday raised questions over the distribution of ministerial berths in Bihar and said while the government formation was a welcome step, his party has got a raw deal.
"Every constituent in the coalition had walked away with a good share of ministerial berths except for the Congress," he said.
