Jammu, Aug 1: Even as the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah boldly abrogated the so called special status of Jammu and Kashmir, the Early Times was the only voice which had been seeking the decision since the inception of this English daily in the region.
Since 2002, when the newspaper started its journey as being the nationalist voice in the erstwhile militancy-infested state, where mainly the separatist sentiment used to be welcome then, the Early Times was bold enough to seek the abrogation of the special status, something which had been preventing full integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of the country.

COVID: All educational institutes to remain closed in J&K | | | Early Time Report
Srinagar, Aug 1: Despite significant decline in the number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir, the administration on Sunday extended the suspension of class work in all educational institutes -- including schools, colleges and universities -- till further order in the Union Territory. As many as 145 people, including 97 from Kashmir and 48 from Jammu, tested positive for COVID-19 during the last 24 hours in the Union Territory, where there are only 1211 active positive cases. One person died due to COVID-19 in Jammu during the last 24 hours.
