Early Times Report Poonch, Aug 1: Army on Monday recovered and later destroyed two anti-personnel mines and 51mm motor shell in Poonch district. Official said that army’s 49 RR recovered two anti-personnel mines at Keri Top Balakote in Gursai Mendhar area. The 51mm Motor shell was recovered from Chandial area, they said. Inclement weather leads to suspension of Amarnath Yatra

Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 1: The Amarnath Yatra was temporarily suspended from both Pahalgam and Baltal routes due to inclement weather on Monday, officials said. However, 140 pilgrims took the helicopter from Baltal to pay obeisance at the Himalayan shrine till 10 am. They said no pilgrim will be allowed to proceed from Nunwan Pahalgam base camp in south Kashmir and halting points of Chandanwari and Panjtarni. Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 1: The 32nd batch of over 450 pilgrims left Jammu for the twin base camps of the 3,880-metre-high cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas, officials said on Monday. A total of 458 pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas here in a convoy of 21 vehicles amid heavy security this morning, they said. They said 164 pilgrims heading for Baltal were the first to leave the camp in eight vehicles followed by the second convoy of 13 vehicles carrying 294 pilgrims for Pahalgam. Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 1: Another batch of over 800 pilgrims on Monday left for Buddha Amarnath shrine in Poonch district from base camp in Jammu amid tight security, officials said. The Buddha Amarnath Yatra resumed on Friday after a gap of two years as the pilgrimage remained suspended for two years due to Covid pandemic. A batch of 827 pilgrims comprising 803 men, 22 women and two children left in 21 vehicles from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu for the shrine, they said. Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 1: Flash floods triggered by heavy rains hit areas of Surankote town in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday, prompting authorities to shut educational institutions and sound an alert, officials said.
