Terror funding networks spread from South Africa to Poonch | | |

Jammu, Aug 20: After getting vital clues during the questioning of two terror operatives arrested on Thursday and Friday from Jammu and Delhi respectively, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Saturday raided multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch in connection with a hawala racket.
Reports said that a team of SIA team raided Jamia Zia Uloom Madarsa Poonch on Saturday morning. Later, the team also raided the house of one of the administrators of the Madarsa Moulvi Ghulam Qadir of Poonch.
“On early Saturday morning, sleuths of SIA reached Poonch and raided Madarsa in Poonch. After seizing some documents, the team raided the house of one of administrators of the Madrasah to get some more proof about their involvement in terror funding case”, sources said.

Police raid multiple locations in Poonch | | |

Jammu, Aug 20: The police on Saturday raided multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch in connection with a hawala racket that was unearthed with the arrest of two people who were allegedly routing money to terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba and Al Badr, officials said.
Abdul Hamid Mir, a resident of Poonch, and Delhi-based garment trader Mohammad Yaseen were arrested from Jammu bus stand and the national capital on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively. Hawala money worth Rs 24 lakh was recovered from them.
The officials said police have been carrying out searches at multiple locations in Poonch since early this morning.

Jammu, Aug 20: Two children were killed when a mud house collapsed due to heavy rains in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police on Saturday said that heavy rains triggered landslide in village Samole of Mittal area.
"Two children killed when a mud house collapsed due to landslides," they said adding that rescue teams after getting information rushed to the spot and recovered the dead bodies from the debris.
The deceased kids were identified as Arif,3, and Ghani,2, children of Billa, resident of District Udhampur.

Srinagar, Aug 20: An Israeli national was rescued by Indian Air Force braving odds in Ladakh on Friday, Srinagar-based defence spokesman Col Emron Musavi said on Saturday.
He said at 10.40 hrs today, 114 Helicopter Unit of IAF received a call for Casevac (Casualty Evacuation) from Nimaling Camp near Markha valley.
The Israeli national, Noam Gil, was suffering from acute mountain sickness and was having difficulty in breathing in the high altitude area. His oxygen level had dropped to 68 per cent.

Srinagar, Aug 20: Police cracked the Budgam grenade blast case and arrested two "hybrid" militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Police on Saturday said during the late evening hours of August 15, a grenade lobbing incident was reported at Gopalpora Chadoora in which Krishna Kumar received injuries.
