New jobs out of sight, babus out to snatch old jobs also | Tribune winds up its offices in J&K, many dailies curtail staff | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 24: The J&K administration has been trumpeting that it’s creating new employment avenues in the Union Territory and is facilitating the outside business houses to invest in J&K, but the ground situation contradicts these claims.
The big brands that were brought to J&K by the former regimes have wind up their operations in the UT and have called it a day.
The erstwhile governments had brought newspapers like Tribune to Jammu and Kashmir and it had employed a good number of people.

Similarly many dailies having staff strength of more than 150 have curtailed their staff due to management not getting much support from the authorities.
The bureaucrats are trying to muzzle the genuine voice by resorting to pressure tactics.”
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “When erstwhile J&K state was transformed into a Union Territory and its special status was revoked people were told that ... | |
