New Delhi to hold high level meeting on Jammu developments | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 24: Taking note of the “situation emerging” in Jammu, New Delhi is set to call a high level meeting on the issue. While the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is abroad, sources said Union Home Minister, Amit Shah has been apprised about the developments taking place in the City of Temples and elsewhere and that meeting would be held as per his instructions.
The sources said the Bharatiya Janata Party leadership at the national and the regional level was also being taken into confidence for the conduct of the meeting and to find solutions. Top sources told the Early Times that a decision in this regard was taken at around 4:00 PM in the national capital and that within an hour the same was conveyed to the Jammu and Kashmir administration. The sources said some of the top functionaries of the Jammu and Kashmir administration are likely to attend the meeting where some crucial decisions are expected. Jammu, Aug 24: While a two-member panel has been constituted to fix the responsibility of those responsible for swindling Hospital Development Funds, another scam involving crores of rupees was unearthed in the Health and Medical Education Department.
Although a panel has been constituted to inquire into this scam, sources said that medical devices worth crores of rupees were purchased by three hospitals without approval and non-availability of funds.

Jammu, Aug 24: Three people were killed and one sustained injuries when a brick-loaded truck skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said on Thursday that a dumper loaded with bricks on its way to Basantgarh from Udhampur plunged into a gorge at Miani in Dudu when the driver lost control of the vehicle.
They said that three people died on the spot and one injured person was shifted to the Primary Health Centre, Latti, in Udhampur.

Srinagar, Aug 24 : A 47-year-old man died and five others were hospitalised with injuries in an electrocution incident in Aala Peer area of Poonch district, official sources said.
They said that a group of persons received jolt while digging grave of a deceased man.
“As the group started to dig the grave of the deceased person, they came in touch with an iron structure which presumably had already been exposed to a live wire”, they said.
