Jammu, Aug 26: In a move that has triggered a controversy in medical fraternity in Jammu and Kashmir, a senior official awarded a medico of a private nursing home alongside the medical superintendent of a government hospital raising questions over the award ceremony.
Official documents reveal that on August 21, a senior official enjoying a key posting in Srinagar felicitated two doctors. One of them was from a leading government hospital established by the Dogra Maharajas and the other one was from a private nursing home. “In continuation to the recognition and acknowledgment of the efforts of the people who relentlessly rendered selfless services during the deadly Covid-19 pandemic, the District Administration Srinagar today felicitated Medical Superintendents,” the official documents said.
Doctors said it was “injustice that the government was recognizing services of only one private nursing home and that others were being ignored.”

SRINAGAR, Aug 26: The Government on Thursday informed that 101 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 17 from Jammu division and 84 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 324647.
Moreover, 119 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 33 from Jammu Division and 86 from Kashmir Division.
Besides this, 63.95 percent of the population above the age of 18 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir.
