Jammuites agitating on streets, Congress felicitating CWC members in Srinagar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 26: While as people of Jammu region are agitating on the streets against installation of pre-paid smart electricity meters and collections of toll tax at Sarore Toll Plaza, leadership of main opposition party of this region Congress was busy in facilitating newly appointed members of the Congress Working Committee (CWC).
Congress today organized a function at Srinagar to felicitate newly appointed members of the CWC. AICC incharge Jammu and Kashmir Rajni Patil came especially to attend this function.
Netizens on social media criticized Congress leadership for organizing felicitation function today especially when all political parties except BJP have given a call for Jammu Bandh.
As per official statement issued by the party, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee on Saturday felicitated recently appointed CWC Members at Srinagar Party Office and expressed gratitude to Congress High Command for adequate representation granted to J&K at National Level.

Jammu observes bandh; warning signal for BJP ahead of ULB, Panchayat elections | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 26: A near total bandh was observed in many parts of Jammu region against the installation of pre-paid electricity smart meters and the collection of toll tax at Sarore Toll Plaza on the Jammu-Pathankot highway.
The call for the Jammu bandh was given by the Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI) and supported by all social, political, and trade organizations except the BJP.
Although the BJP opposes the collection of toll tax on the road which is in a deplorable condition due to ongoing widening work on the highway, the party has maintained a distance from today’s bandh call.
