BJP’s withdrawal of candidates list raises eyebrows | ASSEMBLY POLS IN jAMMU AND kASHMIR | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 26: For the first time in the history of the party, the BJP leadership was forced to withdraw the list of candidates of 44 candidates within minutes after the same was released from the official social media post of the party.
Two hours after withdrawing the list issued on Monday morning, the BJP released two fresh lists comprising 15 and one candidates respectably for the seats that are going for polling for the first phase of elections.
While releasing the revised list, the national general secretary of BJP Arun Singh stated that the list of candidates for the second and third phases of the Assembly elections would be considered “null and void”.
In a surprising move, the BJP withdrew its initial list of 44 candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections just after releasing it.
The party is expected to make some changes and release a revised list soon.
Earlier, the BJP had announced its first list of candidates, including Devender Singh Rana from Nagrota, for the 90-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections.

JAMMU, Aug 26: A mother and her two children are feared to be washed away by a cloudburst that struck the Rajgarh tehsil of J&K’s Ramban, reports said Monday.
The cloudburst also washed away a school building, Govt Middle School Gadgram in Kumait (Kumate) area of Rajgarh even as it took away with it a water mill in the area.
The flashflood triggered by the cloudburst has also washed away four vehicles in Rajgarh area of Ramban district, reports said.

MENDHAR/JAMMU, Aug 26: A rusted landmine was defused by the army along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Monday, officials said.
The landmine was noticed by an army patrol party in a forward village near the border fence in Balakote sector of Mendhar sub-division around 11 am, the officials said.

JAMMU, Aug 26: Four persons were detained for questioning after they were found roaming near an Army camp in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials said.
All the four detained persons were unarmed and were seen moving suspiciously near the Army camp at Billawar, the officials said.
They said security forces immediately intercepted them and they were taken into preventive custody for questioning.
