Kargil Council elections: NC candidates fighting without ‘plough’ symbol | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 27: Although the National Conference has fielded candidates for 24 seats of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil elections, the party nominees are fighting the election in their respective constituencies with the “plough” symbol.
First time in history, the National Conference is fighting any election without the party symbol.
As no state party has been recognized in the Union Territory of Ladakh since its formation after the bifurcation of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, the Union Territory administration said that no unrecognized political party (including National Conference) can stake claim on any symbol. The symbols are allotted to unrecognized political parties by the administration.
After granting Union Territory status to Ladakh, the first elections were going to the held in this party so the administration refused to consider any political party as a recognized state party.
Only three national parties namely BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi (AAP) have allotted their symbols.

Jammu, Aug 28: Even as the Jammu and Kashmir administration recently launched its portal to make JK “corruption free”, the same has been allegedly co-developed by an official who is himself accused of “backdoor appointment, fake degrees and illegal promotions” at the Kashmir University.
Officials said the portal has been developed by the General Administration Department in collaboration with the Kashmir University for processing and monitoring of disciplinary proceedings initiated against employees.

New Delhi, Aug 28: After the successful Chandrayaan-3 mission, ISRO on Monday announced the launch of Aditya-L1 spacecraft to study the Sun on September 2 at 11.50 am from the Sriharikota spaceport.
Aditya-L1 spacecraft is designed for providing remote observations of the solar corona and in-situ observations of the solar wind at L1 (Sun-Earth Lagrangian point), which is about 1.5 million kilometres from the Earth.
It will be the first dedicated Indian space mission for observations of the Sun to be launched by the Bengaluru-headquartered space agency.
