ULB polls: Infighting among warring Congress factions deepens

Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 2: As the Union Territory administration has initiated the process to conduct the maiden Urban Local Body (ULB) elections, infighting in the J&K unit of Congress has intensified as two warring factions of the party have started projecting names of their loyalists. Although the schedule for the ULB elections will be announced after completion of the revision and upgradation of the electoral rolls, Congress leaders have asked their loyalists to start work in their respective wards. Sources in Congress said that instead of preparing panels of potential candidates for the ULB elections both factions in the Congress have given the green signal to their supporters to start groundwork. It is an open secret that the J&K unit of Congress is virtually divided into two groups. Both groups have started exercises to get maximum seats for their supporters and loyalists in coming ULB polls.
