Jammu, Aug 30: A senior IAS officer of J&K cadre, presently holding top position in the government, is under the scanner of the Central Government agencies because of his shoddy deals and acts while holding various important positions during the past few years. This non local senior IAS officer is known for his arrogance and lightheaded attitude towards his juniors and even public representatives in past. However, no Govt could dare to screw him because of a powerful lobbying backing him so far.So powerful was this officer that even a Cabinet ranking minister had to quit after his verbal dual with this IAS who refused to take orders from the Minister. Jammu, Aug 30: Inordinate delay in release of funds by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway, four major road projects of Jammu region are stuck in papers only.
Sources informed that four major road projects including six laning of Kunjwani- Vijaypur (Spur to Jammu Airport). The project cost was announced Rs. 712 Crores for 23 kilometre distance and project was assigned to National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) but due to lack of funds and inordinate delaying in release of funds to construction agency, the project is still in oblivion.

Jammu, Aug 30: Workers carry official documents to transport them for bi-annual 'Darbar Move' from Jammu to Srinagar at Civil Secretariat in Jammu.
The 107-year-old tradition of half-yearly shuttling of the seat of governance between the summer and winter capitals in Jammu and Kashmir is likely to continue even after the state gets bifurcated into two union territories on October 31.

New Delhi, Aug 30 An apparently inexplicable figure in separatist Yaseen Malik''s documents led to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) calling leading Delhi cardiologist Upendra Kaul for an explanation on Friday.
Kaul, who has been treating Malik for various cardiac ailments for two decades, told NIA officials the number in the separatist leader''s papers referred to a blood test and not crores of rupees.
The cardiologist said he was out of the NIA headquarters within 30 minutes.
"I explained to them that the figure mentioned was related to his (Malik''s) blood reports and not money. The officers were convinced and that''s all," Kaul said after the questioning.

New Delhi, Aug 30: The Enforcement Directorate on Friday said that the concerned Adjudicating Authority has held Kashmiri businessman Zahoor Ahmed Shah Watali "guilty of contravening" the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) and imposed on him a fine of Rs 62 lakh.
Watali is also being investigated for funding terror in the Kashmir Valley.
"The Authority imposed a penalty of Rs 62 lakh in a case of operating Non-Resident saving accounts (NRE and NRO) account in HSBC Bank at New Delhi in an 'unauthorized manner'," the Enforcement Directorate said in a statement.
