Jammu, Aug 30: The ‘goof-up’ on the part of BJP to arrange meeting of prominent National Conference leader Mian Altaf with party’s national general secretary Ram Madhav was result of internal politics within the disciplined party.
Credible sources in the BJP said that party leadership was desperately trying to rope in a credible and respectable face in Kashmir Valley to further strengthen the party in the Valley. “Instead of facilitating meetings of central leaders with some credible leaders from Kashmir, some Valley based leaders of the party are rather creating hurdles in bringing some mass base leaders into the party fold”, sources said.
Insiders in the BJP said that party leadership was desperately trying to open a channel of communication with Mian Altaf who has a strong following across Jammu and Kashmir regions. Ram Madhav wanted to meet Mian Altaf but some insiders in the party sabotaged the move because some elements don’t want the entry of a leader like Mian Altaf in the party.

Anantnag, Aug 30: Some doctors at Government Medical College Anantnag are allegedly refusing to perform COVID-19 duty at a time when doctors are being hailed worldwide as corona warriors.
Dr Ghulam Jeelani Romshoo, who heads the Medicine Department at GMC Anantnag, told Early Times that most of the senior doctors refused to perform COVID-19 duty as per the roaster drafted two weeks ago.

Jammu, Aug 30: A junior Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) officer was suspended with immediate effect on Sunday for very “poor performance” in the issuance of domicile certificates to applicants here, an official order said.
Ravi Shankar, posted in Jammu (Khas) as tehsildar, has been attached in the office of the Divisional Commissioner, the order issued by the Revenue Department Principal Secretary Pawan Kotwal read.
It said, "The officer was suspended for dereliction of his duties involving disobedience and very poor performance in the issuance of domicile certificates to the applicants, causing huge suffering and inconvenience to the public".

New Delhi, Aug 30: The Centre has asked all its departments to review the service records of employees who have completed 30 years in the job to identify inefficient or corrupt staff and retire them prematurely in public interest, a Personnel Ministry order read.
The employees' performance review is conducted under the Fundamental Rule (FR) 56 (J) and 56 (I), and also under Rule 48 (1) (b) of the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1972, that gives "absolute right" to the appropriate authority to retire a government servant, "if it is necessary to do so in public interest".
