Resignations spree going unabated in ‘disciplined’ BJP | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 30: After the party issued lists of party candidates for the Assembly elections, a spree of resignations is going unabated in the disciplined BJP as leaders resigned from the party to contest elections as rebel candidates.
Today two senior leaders namely Chander Mohan Sharma, a veteran politician, and Kashmira Singh resigned from the party against the wrong distribution of the tickets.
Chander Mohan Sharma is a veteran leader, who has been associated with the Saffron party since the days of Jan Sangh. Similarly, Kashmira Singh is the district president of the party's Samba district.
While Chander Mohan Sharma has announced to contest the election as an Independent candidate from the Jammu East Assembly constituency, Kashmira Singh has not announced a future course of action.
On Ramban's seat, a young and dynamic BJP leader Suraj Singh Parihar has already filed his nomination papers as Independent candidate against official party nominee Rakesh Thakur.
