Modi Hai To Mumkin Hai: Lal Chowk gets house-full bookings for August 5 celebrations | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Aug 3: The historic Lal Chowk or Ghanta Ghar, which till a few years ago used to be a hub of anti-national protests, has made “house-full” bookings for the August 5 celebrations from morning till late in the evening in honor of the abrogation of the so called special status of Jammu and Kashmir on this day in 2019.
Official sources said the administration has received requests from numerous quarters including news channels, sports groups and musical bands that they want to host colorful events at the busy square on the big day.
The sources said atleast half a dozen TV channels have sought permission to host their live programs at the busy marketplace on the eventful day adding that the administration was looking into the possibility of giving the permission.
Sources said a group of cultural bands have also sought permission to hold their colorful events.
The sources said the celebrations would start with hoisting of the tricolor at the clock tower on the Ghanta Ghar followed by daylong celebrations.

Jammu, Aug 3: After exposing the MBBS seat scam to finance terrorists, the State Intelligence Agency (SIA) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday busted a gang using the Bitcoin channel to push dirty money into the Union Territory. This is the first time that SIA has established the use of Cryptocurrency in financing terrorism.
On Wednesday, SIA conducted a series of raids at several locations spread across Jammu and Kashmir.

New Delhi, Aug 3: Three years after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A from Jammu and Kashmir, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday said 29,806 people were recruited by the Union Territory administration from 2019 onwards and that 5.2 lakh employment were estimated to have been created through self-employment schemes. Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai on Wednesday shared these facts with the Rajya Sabha in a written reply, saying “the government of Jammu and Kashmir has carried out recruitment in the public sector from 2019 onwards totalling 29,806”.

New Delhi, Aug 3: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects worth more than Rs 300 crore of Shrimad Rajchandra Mission in Gujarat on Thursday via video conferencing.
The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a statement that PM Modi will inaugurate Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital at Dharampur in Valsad. The cost of the entire project is around Rs 200 crore.

SRINAGAR, Aug 3: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) trapped and arrested Majid Choudhary, Tehsildar, Pantha Chowk and his clerk red-handed while demanding Rs. 1.61 lakhs and accepting Rs. 1.20 lakh bribe as first instalment for issuance of revenue records.
The ACB received a written complaint, alleging therein that Tehsildar Pantha Chowk, Srinagar and his office clerk Peer Waseem Ahmad are demanding Rs. 1.61 lakhs as bribe for issuing the revenue records in favour of the complainant.
