Rohingyas under scanner for narco-terrorism | | |

Jammu, Aug 3: In its war against narcotics, Jammu and Kashmir Police started a comprehensive campaign to identify Rohingyas involved in drug trafficking in different parts of Jammu province.
Highly placed sources said that special teams have been constituted to keep a watch on the activities of some Rohingyas who have been allegedly involved in selling drugs in some slum areas of Jammu city and its outskirts.
Recently a Rohingya refugee at present putting up in the Karyani Talab area on the outskirts of Jammu, with 3 kg of cannabis and it was established during the questioning about the involvement of Rohingyas in drug trafficking and other illegal activities.
Living illegally in a sensitive state of J&K for the last nearly 16 years, these refugees have become a potential security threat to the region close to a hostile neighbour. A campaign to deport these foreigners has already been launched by various groups in Jammu.

KARGIL, Aug 3: At least 12 people were injured after a three-storey building on a hill’s slope collapsed due to a cave-in when a earthmover was working near it in Ladakh’s Kargil district early Saturday, police officials said.

JAMMU, Aug 3: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Traffic Police Jammu, Dr. M. Haseeb Mughal on Saturday visited the Rajouri Yatra camp and met with the pilgrimage organisers to review the traffic arrangements for the upcoming Shri Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra.
The yatra is set to begin from Aug 6.
Dr Mughal was accompanied by Additional Superintendent of Police(Traffic), Mohammad Nawaz, DTI Rajouri Inspector Kapil Manhas, and other officers.

JAMMU, Aug 3: Another batch of over 990 pilgrims, including 152 women, left a base camp here for the two main base camps in Kashmir early Saturday to embark on the annual Amarnath Yatra, officials said.
This was the smallest batch of devotees leaving Jammu’s Bhagwati Nagar base camp since the commencement of the 52-day-long yatra from the twin base camps of Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district on June 29.
