Kashmir based parties fail to impress people by their theatrics | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 4: In a bid to reclaim political relevance Kashmir-based political parties are trying to create a notion that they alone can represent the people but masses seem unimpressed by their theatrics.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, “Since the revocation of Article 370 and J&K’s bifurcation into two union territories, J&K has witnessed significant political upheaval.”
“National Conference (NC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have long portrayed themselves as the guardians of Kashmiri interests. They are attempting to make a comeback by trying to send a message that they only can safeguard the interests of J&K people.
However, people are not getting swayed by their claims as they are aware about the political stunts staged by them for the sake of power,” the analyst added.
“Leaders of Kashmir based parties are hoping to reinforce their narrative that they are the only representatives of the people's aspirations in the region. However, this tactic seems to have had limited impact on the ground,” he said.

Ayodhya, Aug 4: The temple trust will hold the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 21, 22, and 23 next year, a trust member said today.
The trust members had earlier said they would be sending an official invite to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the event.
“The consecration ceremony of Ram Janmabhoomi will take place in the third week of January next year. Three dates - 21, 22, and 23 of January - have been fixed for the consecration ceremony. New Delhi, Aug 4: Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla was on Friday given another one-year extension, his fourth in the post, till August 22, 2024, according to a Personnel Ministry order.
Bhalla, a 1984-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, was appointed home secretary in August 2019.
He was to retire in November 2020 after attaining 60 years of age. His tenure was first extended on October 17, 2020 till August 22, 2021. Srinagar, Aug 4: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at five places in Kashmir on Friday in a terror conspiracy case, officials said.
These raids are going on in several districts in the valley.
Officials said the raids are part of the ongoing investigation into a terror conspiracy case registered in 2022 in Jammu.
"Searches are underway in five locations in RC 5/2022/JMU," they said.
The case relates to the hatching of a conspiracy, both in physical and cyberspace, and plans by the proscribed terrorist organisations to unleash violent terrorist attacks in J&K with sticky bombs, IEDs, and small arms.
