JAMMU, Aug 6: With the Modi Government having brilliantly managed to abrogate Article 370 and 35-A to make Jammu and Kashmir a Union Territory, New Delhi has started preparedness for the first of its kind 'Mega Investment Summit' in the state.
Sources said that Government will be hosting "Mega Investment Summit" in the month of October to seek investment from major business players into State of Jammu and Kashmir. NEW DELHI, Aug 6: The government is looking at options to strengthen the Jammu & Kashmir Bank as per reports .The state government holds 60 percent stake in Jammu & Kashmir Bank. Until recently, it had similar powers as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) within Jammu and Kashmir.
Once Jammu & Kashmir becomes a Union Territory (UT), the state government's shares will be transferred to the Centre.

RAJOURI, Aug 6: Pakistan violated ceasefire on Tuesday by mortar shelling and small arms firing on forward posts and villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
The firing from across the border started in Sunderbani sector around 12.40 pm, prompting retaliation by Indian Army, an army officer said.
He said the exchange of firing between the two sides continued till 2.30 pm.
