Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 6: Not many people, including politicians, are happy with style of functioning of bureaucracy in Jammu and Kashmir. Senior BJP leaders in J&K Yudhvir Sethi, Kavinder Gupta and many others have castigated the bureaucracy for ignoring the aspirations of the people and dictating terms to the masses. When COVID-19 second wave was at its peak in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP vice-president and incharge COVID management, Yudhvir Sethi had slammed administration for not doing enough to contain the alarming surge in Corona Virus cases despite knowing that second wave would be more dangerous. While addressing a press conference in Jammu, he had criticized administration for making the CD Hospital a Triage Centre as a big mistake. Sethi had also accused the bureaucracy of messing up the mining business in Jammu and had alleged that the officials were patronizing the mining mafia. Rajesh Tandon Early times Report Poonch, July 22: The Public Works (Road and Building) Departments Rajouri and Poonch have allegedly been allotting development works to only a few blue eyed contractors leaving others eligible and unemployed in lurch. It has been alleged that no quality inspection is conducted by the department of the works executed by the contractors and despite a number of the complaints about poor quality of roads and shockingly the payments of these works is cleared easily due to proximity with senior officials. COVID-19: JK reports 144 new cases

Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Aug 6: The Government on Friday informed that 144 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 50 from Jammu division and 94 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 322286. Moreover, 98 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 29 from Jammu Division and 69 from Kashmir Division. Besides this, 99.54 percent of population above the age of 45 years has been vaccinated across the Jammu and Kashmir.
