Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 7: A 60-year-old woman died in a house collapse and several structures were washed away as heavy rain lashed large parts of the Jammu region, throwing life out of gear on Wednesday, officials said. New Delhi, Aug 7: About 4,264 applications received on the PM Cares for Children portal have been rejected, the government said on Wednesday, listing non-eligibility as the reason for rejection under the scheme for children orphaned during the Covid pandemic. The scheme was launched by the prime minister to support children who have lost both parents or legal guardian or adoptive parents or surviving parent after March 11, 2020. Women and Child Development (WCD) Minister Annpurna Devi told the Rajya Sabha that 9,331 applications have been registered on the PM Cares for Children portal from 613 districts in 33 states/UTs.
