Banned Jamaat-e-Islami still collecting funds for terror groups | NIA raids residences of JeI members in Jammu, Doda | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 8: Despite being declared a banned organization by the Union Home Ministry activists of Jamaat-e-Islami are still collecting money in the name of charity to fund terror groups.
After getting vital clues during questioning of the arrested activists of the banned radical organization Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI), the National Investigation Agency on Monday conducted simultaneous raids in Doda and Jammu districts in terror funding cases.
Raids were carried out at the residences of the members of JeI in both the Jammu and Doda districts. The raids started in early Monday morning and continued till evening.
Raids were conducted at nearly a dozen places at the premises of JeI office-bearers and members in different parts of the two districts after getting lists of active members of the banned organization.
Official sources said the raids were carried out at Dhara-Gundana, Munshi Mohalla, Akramband, Nagri Nai Basti, Kharoti Bhagwah, Thalela, and Malothi Bhalla in Doda district, and Faisalabad Mohallah in Sunjwan area in the outskirts of Jammu city. Accordi... | |

2 devotees killed, one injured as boulder falls near Shiv Khori | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 8: Two devotees were killed and one sustained injuries when they were hit by a huge boulder on Monday near Shiv Khori Cave Shrine in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police said that a big boulder hit the road near Shiv Khori this afternoon leaving two devotees dead and one injured.
Police identified the deceased as Nirmal Singh,17, son of Ranjit Singh of Khawas, district Rajouri, J&K and Shravan Singar,45, son Ram Singar, resident of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile his brother Sahib Singar have suffered injuries and shifted to the hospital.

Srinagar, Aug 8: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh each for the Next of Kin of those who lost their lives in the tragic shooting stones incident at Shiv Khori in Reasi district.
The injured would be given Rs. 50,000 each and the UT Government will bear the cost of their treatment.

NEW DELHI, Aug 8: There have been 19 incidents of drones or unidentified flying objects (UFOs) flying around Indian airports since 2019, Minister of State for Civil Aviation V K Singh said on Monday.
According to the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the number of cases wherein drones or UFOs were detected around airports across the country were 11 in 2019, he said in his written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha.
There was no incident of drones or UFOs around Indian airports in 2020, he mentioned. In 2021 and 2022, there were six and two incidents wherein drones or UFOs detected around Indian airports, respectively, he noted.

Srinagar, Aug 8: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has set up a new and transparent recruitment system for the youth without any favouritism and discrimination, an official spokesman said on Monday.
He said the highest number of civilian jobs were given last year.
