Jammu, Aug 31: The State Accountability Commission (SAC) in 2012 said 'it doesn't have jurisdiction to proceed on anonymous complaints' and later had to close the case against the former finance minister for allegedly awarding smart card contract to his son worth crores in the state.
Yuva Shakti Mission, an organisation, that year in February levelled allegations against the former minister that he had given smart card contract to his son worth crores of rupees.
The Commission, however, in its report said that since there were question marks over the identity of the complainants they cannot proceed further and closed the inquiry.
"This Commission does not have jurisdiction to proceed on anonymous complaints filed without giving sufficient particulars of the complainant(s) so as to identify them, like the instant complaint, as such we are unable to proceed further in the matter.
The inquiry is therefore closed," the Commission said in its report.

Doda, Aug 31: Twelve structures, including six shops, were gutted in a fire at a market place in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district, officials said on Saturday.
