Jammu, Sept 10: In yet another shocker from Jammu due to allegedly poor administrative affairs the University of Jammu has fallen in the prestigious National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)-2021, while Kashmir University has risen in the status.
Performing even better, the University of Kashmir has figured among top 50 universities in the all-India ranking of varsities conducted by the Union Ministry of Education under NIRF-2021.
“The University has ranked at 48th position among universities assessed under the NIRF-2021, with an overall point score of 46.97, in key parameters including Teaching, Learning and Resources (60.49 points), Research and Professional Practices (19.51 points), Graduation Outcome (77.03 points), Outreach and Inclusivity (50.12 points) and Peer Perception (25.52 points),” said an official at the KU.

Srinagar, Sept 10: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan and a woman were injured in a grenade attack by militants in the summer capital, Srinagar, on Friday. Official sources said militants hurled a grenade at a security force party at Chanapora in uptown Srinagar on Friday, resulting in minor injuries to a CRPF jawan and a woman. The injured were rushed to a hospital where their health condition is stated to be stable, they said.

New Delhi, Sept 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday chaired a high-level meeting to review the Covid-19 situation in the country.

Srinagar, Sept 10: Traffic Police on Friday said that there would be a traffic movement from Srinagar to Jammu and vice versa on the NHW-44 tomorrow subject to fair weather.
They further said that light motor vehicles passengers shall be allowed tomorrow from both sides of Jammu to Srinagar and from Srinagar to Jammu only after the better road condition and clement weather.

Srinagar, Sept 10: Traffic was suspended on Friday on the national highway, the only road connecting Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh with Kashmir for weekly maintenance.
However, the highway will remain open from Leh to Minamarg in Kargil district and Srinagar to Sonamarg Friday, officials said.
They said no vehicle was allowed from either sides on the Srinagar-Leh national highway for weekly maintenance at Zojila pass.
