Jammu, Sept 10: Former Chief Minister and vice-president of National Conference today admitted in full public view that stone pelting has stopped in Kashmir.
“I don't know what are the reasons but one thing I admit here is that stone pelting has stopped in Kashmir Valley for the last couple of years”, Omar Abdullah said at a function at Jammu. “As a responsible politician, I never want that youth of Kashmir should be involved in stone pelting or other violent acts”, he said.

New Delhi, Sept 10: With the aim to facilitate an ecosystem of technology and innovation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the Centre-State Science Conclave on Saturday via video conferencing.
According to Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the first of its kind Conclave will strengthen Centre-State coordination and collaboration mechanisms - in the spirit of cooperative federalism - to build a robust science, technology and innovation (STI) ecosystem across the country.

Jammu, Sept 10: A four-member Special Investigation Team has been constituted by the Jammu Police to probe death of a professor in the Department of Psychology at University of Jammu following allegation of misconduct against him.
Prof Chander Shekhar on Wednesday was found hanging in his office chamber at the university campus.

Jammu, Sept 10: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday said that it filed chargesheet against six accused in connection selective killing of a Sarpanch in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The NIA informed that it filed the chargesheet in NIA Special Court, Jammu in the case of the targeted killing of Sarpanch Shabir Ahmad Mir of village Adoora, Kulgam by the terrorists of terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen (HM).
The case was initially registered as FIR no. 32/2022 dated 11.03.2022 at PS Kulgam, J&K and re-registered by NIA as RC 01/2022/NIA/JMU on 08.04.2022.

Jammu, Sept 10: Normal activities resumed in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri town on Saturday as restrictions imposed under CrPC section 144 were lifted by the authorities, officials said.
The border town witnessed a curfew-like situation on Friday as District Magistrate Vikas Kundal issued prohibitory orders to maintain law and order in the wake of a land dispute between two communities.
As the day passed off peacefully with no untoward incident being reported from anywhere, the restrictions were withdrawn.

Srinagar, Sept 10: Security forces have busted a module of Lashkar-e-Taiba by arresting four overground workers in Sopore sub district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
They said initially two OGWs were arrested at a joint checkpoint set by police, Army and CRPF at Gousiabad Chowk Chinkipora.
During checking, a suspicious movement of two persons was noted and they were asked to stop, but they tried to flee from the spot. However, they were tactfully apprehended. Upon their personal search two grenades were recovered, a police officer in Sopore said on Friday.
The two were identified as Shakir Akber Gojree of Kuloosa Bandipora and Mohsin Wani of Chinad Baramulla.

SRINAGAR, Sept 10: The Government today informed that 64 fresh positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19) have been reported today; 13 from Jammu division and 46 from Kashmir division, thus taking the total number of positive cases to 478685.
Moreover, 131 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 45 from Jammu division and 86 from Kashmir division.
