Health institutes in Jammu slip into 'deep coma' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Sept 13: All health institutes of Jammu province including the premier Government Medical College (GMC) have slipped into 'deep coma' due to alleged casual approach of the officials.
Credible sources said that health institutes have completely collapsed with an increasing number of corona positive cases and doctors in these institutes taking the excuse of COVID-19 to shriek their responsibilities.
"On one hand all institutions lack basic infrastructure to fight the pandemic as those at the helm of the affairs had wasted lockdown period to equip hospitals with infrastructure, while on the other their senior doctors are not shouldering their responsibilities," sources alleged.
They said, "From the day one when the first patient of Coronavirus was detected on March 9, all senior doctors are skirting their responsibilities."

Srinagar, Sept 13: Four months after his formal retirement from government services, one Administrative Officer at SK Institute of Medical Sciences SKIMS Soura continues to be in the office and is holding multiple charges at the same hospital in Srinagar.
Official documents as accessed by the Early Times show that the said person had been holding the charges of Administrative Officer for Academics and also as the Assistant Controller Examinations.
Sources said the said person was enjoying "good equation" with a senior official at the SKIMS and thus was verbally asked to continue to hold multiple charges even after retirement from services to "meet mutual interests."

SRINAGAR, Sept 13: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir has dipped to 66 percent, almost 12 percent less than the national recovery rate of 77.88 percent. The recovery rate has been hit due to the surge in Corona Virus cases in the past one week or so.
The union territory reported 1,686 fresh cases of the virus today and as a result of the same the number of positive cases is 54,096. With 14 fresh deaths the death toll in Jammu & Kashmir reached 878. The Jammu division has seen surge in both the fresh cases as well as deaths in past one week.
