CBI to identify kingpin of infamous SI recruitment scam at any cost | | |

Jammu, Sept 13: Second successive raid conducted by the sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is a clear indication that the central agency would reach the main kingpin of the infamous Police Sub Inspector recruitment scam.
Within a month, CBI has conducted two raids in different parts of the country to investigate this case and to reach out to the main culprits.
Sleuths of the CBI on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids at 33 places across the country in connection with the infamous Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-Inspector recruitment scam.
Reports said that the CBI has also raided the premises of former Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) chairman Khalid Jehangir.
Apart from this, the premises of JKSSB controller of examination Ashok Kumar are also being searched.
According to reports teams of CBI are conducting raids at 33 locations including Jammu, Srinagar, Karnal, Mahendragarh, Rewari in Haryana, Gandhinagar in Gujarat, Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, Bengaluru, and Delhi.

Accused earned over Rs 100 cr from candidates | | |

Jammu, Sept 13: Accused involved in the Sub-Inspector recruitment scam have reported earned over Rs 100 crore from candidates and their parents by selling question papers before the commencement of the examination.
“Investigation has revealed the alleged payment of Rs.20 to 30 lakh(approx) by willing candidates and their families to the accused for accessing the question paper before the commencement of the examination”, handout issued by CBI reads.
“In this regard, involvement of a gang domiciled in Haryana, certain teachers of Jammu and Kashmir, some serving/retired personnel of CRPF, J&K Police, and JKSSB has allegedly come to light”, the handout reads.

Srinagar, Sept 13: In yet another low, the drug addicts in Kashmir in the latest have looted a homeless old man after beating him in the heart of the summer capital here.
A senior police official told the Early Times that while complaints of drug addiction were on rise in Kashmir, the “way drug addicts grab money was becoming even shocking for the society on the whole.”
The police official said at around midnight of September 10 two youth reached Lal Chowk only to beat an homeless old man from whom they grabbed money for drugs.

Jammu, Sept 13: A Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court comprising Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Justice Mohammad Akram Chowdhary today refused to suspend the life-imprisonment and rejected the bail application of one Javed Ahmed Shah who was convicted by Principal Sessions Judge Pulwama in February 2022.
The case projected by the prosecution was that Sameer had administered fatal blow upon the head of the victim Khursheed who was a BA 2nd year student of Maxwell Public college Pulwama while the accused Javid was holding his legs in the tin shed of the accused-turned approver, Abdul Rashid Dar at Murran Pulwama on the fateful day.

SRINAGAR, Sept 13:The Government today informed that 47 fresh positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19) have been reported today; 13from Jammu division and 34 from Kashmir division, thus taking the total number of positive cases to 478806.
Moreover, 73 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 20fromJammu division and 53 from Kashmir division.
