Unity still a distant dream in J&K Congress | | |

Jammu, Sept 15: Even as loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad were very much present in the official function organized by Pradesh Congress to welcome Rahul Gandhi, unity in the faction-ridden party is still a distant dream.After the much-publicized visit of Rahul Gandhi, none of the Azad loyalists have visited the party office or attended any function organized by another faction.
Except presenting a ‘united face’ during the visit of Rahul Gandhi, no further action has been taken to iron out differences between the two warring factions of the party. A senior leader, who owes his loyalty towards Ghulam Nabi Azad told The Early Times that their group is watching activities of dissidents. “Very soon a meeting will be convened in which all leaders including loyalists of Azad would be invited. Things will be cleared only after that meeting”, the leader, wishing anonymity, said.

Srinagar, Sept 15: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir range, K Vijay Kumar on Wednesday said that there are three militants and about 15 Over Ground Workers (OGWs) active in Srinagar city who will be either arrested or killed in encounters.
Talking to reporters on the sideline of a sports function in Srinagar this afternoon, Mr Kumar said in August last year there was Zero presence of militants in Srinagar. However, in the first week of October Abbas Sheikh shifted from Kulgam to Srinagar and seven more militants joined him here.

SRINAGAR, Sept 15: The Government on Wednesday informed that 156 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 32 from Jammu division and 124 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 327296. Also, one COVID death has been reported from Jammu Division.
Moreover, 131 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals including 32 from Jammu Division and 99 from Kashmir Division.
Besides this, 75.06 percent of the population above the age of 18 years has been vaccinated across Jammu and Kashmir.

New Delhi, Sept 15: Delhi Police Crime Branch on Wednesday arrested two persons in connection with the murder of former Jammu and Kashmir MLC Trilochan Singh Wazir.
“We arrested an accused, Raju in Jammu, involved in the death case of ex J&K MLC Trilochan Singh Wazir. He disclosed that 4 persons were present during the incident on September 3, where Wazir was shot dead. The victim was given sedatives with food,” said Prashant Gautam, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West, Delhi.
