Jammu, Sept 19: Principal of Government Medical College Jammu writing a letter to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Financial Secretary Health and Medical Education Department, Atal Duloo, offering voluntary retirement from the services was nothing more than a “stunt aimed at diverting the attention from the real issues”, the GMC staffers have alleged.
An insider told Early Times that the GMC Principal “played a victim card” to divert attention from the real issues and escape from the “current mismanagement and lack of competence on his part” not only to run his parent department of general surgery but also the GMC Jammu.

Jammu, Sept 19: In a shocking development that has put Jammu and Kashmir to losses worth crores of rupees, some “influential business families” in Kashmir have come under scanner for allegedly illegal manufacture of cement.
Sources said the dynasts, who ruled Kashmir had given a free-hand to such influential business families for mining for cement production without requisite license.
Sources said the government has come to know that such influential families who own cement plants in central Kashmir had been manufacturing the cement without license for mining of the raw material from the nearby mountains as the same had expired several years ago.

JAMMU, Sept 19: The Government on Saturday informed that 1492 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 831 from Jammu division and 661 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 62533. Also 21 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 14 from Jammu division and 07 from Kashmir Division.
