J&K politicians become uneasy after introduction of ‘Women Reservation Bill’ in Lok Sabha Social media flooded with lists of 29 constituencies to be reserved for women in UT 9/19/2023 11:11:34 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 19: Within minutes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the Women’s Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha to grant 33 percent reservation to women in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, social media flooded with lists of assembly constituencies to be reserved for women in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Although there is no official confirmation of the lists posted on social media, fear gripped many senior politicians of Jammu and Kashmir because their strongholds are likely to be reserved for women. The Bill seeks to provide a 33 percent quota for women in the Legislative Assembly of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, out of the total 90 seats 29 are likely to be reserved for women in J&K.
