Now Srinagar to get model schools, Jammu nothing! | 'Rs 3 crore already released for upgradation of 25 existing institutions' | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Sept 20: As a part of upgradation of educational activities in Kashmir, the Administration has decided to come up with 25 model government schools in the summer capital of Srinagar, whereas no such plans seems to be in place for Jammu, which unlike the valley, swear by Nationalist Sentiments.
Since the abrogation of special status on Aug 5, the administration's plans for development activities seems to be focused on Kashmir alone as in the latest, the educational sector in Srinagar is getting special attention.
Official sources said that administration has already released Rs 3 crores for the upgration of 25 existing government schools in Srinagar as model schools as part of the pilot project.
Sources said work is underway as the funds have already been released as a result of which the concerned are not finding any financial crunch with regard to expenditure for the project implementation. NEW DELHI, Sept 20: The claim that people in the Kashmir valley are unable to access the Jammu and Kashmir High Court has not been supported by a report received from the chief justice there, the Supreme Court said on Friday.
The apex court however directed the Juvenile Justice Committee of the High Court to undertake an exercise on alleged detention of children in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370 and submit a report within a week.
