According to media reports, 5 mainstream leaders and the Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq have signed bonds that they won't indulge in any political activity. An analyst while talking to Early Times said Kashmiri leaders have been left with limited options, either they have to stay behind the bars or they have to fall in the line. The ones who are falling in the line are being released and the ones who are adamant continue to remain under detention. He said, "The leaders who have signed the bonds to seek their release are the same people who during all these years have spoken in different languages and have never made an attempt to prove their loyalty towards the country and their own people." An observer said, "The reorganization of Jammu & Kashmir has shown the Kashmir-centric leaders their real place.
